With wireless wearables, voice-controlled smart home gadgets, giant TVs, handheld projectors, autonomous cars and passenger drones on display, more than 140,000 attendees roamed nearly 2.5 million square feet of showroom floor space to play around with tomorrow’s technology today.
As expected, artificial intelligence was one of the pervasive themes this year.
For our USA TODAY awards package, we wanted to find extraordinary products across several categories. Many of our picks were based on hands-on demos, even if they were prototypes. In other instances, we weren’t able to test them (like a flying car or multipurpose yard robot), but conceptually they proved super-innovative and unique, and something we could see ourselves using in the future.
